Japan Visa

We will assist you to apply Japan Visa for Filipino national in Davao. To enter Japan you need a passport and a visa. There are a number of different types of Japanese visas which are designed by the Japanese government for different purposes and lengths of time.

Tourist Visa

PURPOSE

Applicants who have personally arranged travel/tours in Japan may apply.

NOTICE

  • Size of document for application should be A4 size only. If document is other size, please submit copy that is already adjusted in A4 size from its original and without staples or pasting pages.
  • If old/valid passport with used Japan visa can be submitted, applicant can be exempted from submitting (4) and (5) below.
  • It is applicant's responsibility to ensure that he/she meet the requirements for the grant of a visa. Submission of any supporting documents not listed below is encouraged (e.g. applicant's economic or social ties with the Philippines, urgent reasons for visit: medical certificate, wedding invitation).
  • Sufficient documents does not guarantee of an approve visa, still Japan Embassy's discretion applies.
  • If a falsified document is submitted, a visa will not be issued.
  • Documents submitted cannot be returned as a general rule.
  • In some instances, Japan Embassy ask for an additional document (other than the basic). Such documents must be submitted within three (3) months only, otherwise the application will be terminated.
  • Receipts of documents (PSA B/C, PSA M/C, Bank Certificate, etc.) should be removed.

REQUIREMENTS

All documents must be original unless otherwise stated.

  1. Philippine Passport
    Broken passport is not accepted. Passports must be signed and must have at least two (2) blank visa pages.
  2. Visa Application Form
    Available at the WEB SITE of Japan Embassy. Application form should be filled out all items correctly. If item is not applicable, please fill in [N/A]. Embassy may not accept application with blank item, no signature or no date in the form; may deny the application that is filled out incorrectly or wrong information.
  3. Photo
    Specs: 4.5cm x 4.5cm, with white background. Photo must be taken within 6 months. Please write applicant's name and birthdate on back side of the photo. Photo must be pasted on the application form.
  4. Birth Certificate
    Must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office / Serbilis Outlet Center (nationwide).
  5. Marriage Certificate (if applicant is married)
    Must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office / Serbilis Outlet Center (nationwide).
  6. Daily Schedule in Japan (TAIZAI YOTEIHYO)
    Required if self-funding.
  7. Bank Certificate
    Bank Certificate validity is 3 months from date of issue.
  8. Income Tax Return (ITR) (Form 2316) clear photocopy (latest)
    If self-funding.
  9. Guarantee Letter
    If guarantor funds travel.
  10. Proof of Relationship
    If using guarantor.
  11. Guarantor Documentation
    Bank certificate and tax return.
  12. ACR Copy
    For foreign long-term residents.

Transit Visa

PURPOSE

Purpose of travel to Japan is to stop by or make a short visit on the way to/from another country.

NOTICE

  • All documents must be A4 size only.
  • Documents cannot be returned after submission.
  • Falsified documents will result in visa denial.
  • Embassy may request additional documents within three months.
  • Receipts should be removed from submitted documents.

REQUIREMENTS

All documents must be original unless otherwise stated.

  1. Philippine Passport
    Broken passport is not accepted. Passports must be signed and must have at least two (2) blank visa pages.
  2. Visa Application Form
    Available at the WEB SITE of Japan Embassy.
  3. Photo
    Specs: 4.5cm x 4.5cm, with white background. Photo must be taken within 6 months. Please write applicant's name and birthdate on back side of the photo. Photo must be pasted on the application form.
  4. Birth Certificate
    Issued within one year from PSA.
  5. Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
    Issued within one year from PSA.
  6. Daily Schedule
    Available as downloadable form.
  7. Bank Certificate
    Valid for three months from issue date.
  8. Airline Reservation Certificate
  9. Valid visa of final destination country

Commercial Visa

PURPOSE

Purpose of going to Japan to attend business meetings, conference, trainings etc. at mother or sister companies and business partners located in Japan. (If practical training is included in the activity "Certificate of Eligibility" is required regardless of the length of stay.)

    For self-employed applicants please submit a certificate of business registration.
  6. Social Security Card Copy
  7. Applicant's Income Tax Return (ITR) (Form 2316) clear photocopy (latest)
  8. Travel Order / Dispatch Letter
  9. Invitation Letter
  10. Business Registration / TOKIBOTOHON (must be issued within 1 year original or photocopy), Copy of the latest Quarterly Report (SHIKIHO), Company Brochure, Pamphlet or any outline of the company/organization.
    Note 1. If invited by Japanese counterpart, submit requirements 9 and 10.
    Note 2. If invited by an individual, submit employment certificate of inviter instead of 10 above.
  11. Proof of activities in Japan (Contract, Transaction details, Conference Materials etc.)

    If applicant's purpose is training, please submit the following documents that indicates the content of the training:
    I. Training acceptance agreement from the receiving company / organization
    II. Detailed program of activities from the receiving company / organization
    i. Training necessity, method and content of the training
    ii. Training location, schedule, period of training, person in-charge, language to be used

    If counterpart in Japan will shoulder any/part of applicant's travel expenses:
  12. Guarantee Letter
  13. Residence Track — 2 copies
    Residence track is not required for "diplomatic" or "official" purposes.
  14. If Applicant is not Philippine nationality
    Foreign residents with long-term or permanent status in the Philippines applying for a visa must submit, in addition to the above requirements (except birth and marriage certificates), a copy of their Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) issued by the Philippine government. Visa application of foreigners who are on short-term (temporary) visa in the Philippines cannot be accepted. Please apply at the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General with jurisdiction over the area in which the applicant resides or over the country of which the applicant's passport was issued.

Nikkei-jin Visa

ELIGIBILITY

Children of Japanese Nationals born on or before the end of World War II (referred to as the 2nd Generation), the 2nd Generation's descendants and their spouses are eligible.

NOTICE

  • Documents must be A4 size only.
  • Applicants with valid Japanese visas in old passports may be exempt from certain requirements.
  • Supporting documents beyond the listed items are encouraged.
  • Falsified documents result in visa denial.
  • Submitted documents generally cannot be returned.
  • The Embassy may request additional documents within a 3-month window.

APPLICATION CATEGORIES

B. With Certificate of Eligibility

Required documents:

Additional requirements include extensive genealogical documentation, background histories, and relationship proof documents.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Applications may be filed through "FRIENDSHIP TOURS" agency or registered Nikkei-jin agencies (11 AM–12 PM weekdays).
  • Certificate holders may apply directly at embassy offices during specified hours.

PROCESSING REMINDERS

  • Early application is encouraged.
  • Documents require brown envelope labeled "NIKKEI-JIN".
  • Japanese documents valid 3 months (Koseki Tohon valid 6 months).
  • Interviews required after document examination.

Official / Diplomat Visa

PURPOSE

For visiting Japan on diplomatic or official purposes.

NOTICE

  • Size of document for application should be A4 size only.
  • Applicants with old/valid passports containing used Japan visas may be exempt from submitting certain documents.
  • Documents must be original unless stated otherwise.
  • Documents submitted cannot be returned as a general rule.
  • Falsified documents result in visa denial.
  • Embassy may request additional documents within 3 months.
  • Remove receipts from PSA documents, bank certificates, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

All documents must be original unless otherwise stated.

  1. Philippine Passport
    Unbroken, signed, minimum 2 blank visa pages.
  2. Visa Application Form
    Available at the WEB SITE of Japan Embassy.
  3. Photo
    4.5cm x 4.5cm, white background, taken within 6 months.
  4. Note Verbal or official documents from foreign government / international organization
  5. Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
    Original and photocopy, if issued by Japan Immigration Bureau.

Visiting Friends / Relatives

PURPOSE

Visiting friends or distant relatives living in Japan.

NOTICE

  • Size of document for application should be A4 size only. If document is other size, please submit copy that is already adjusted in A4 size from its original and without staples or pasting pages.
  • If old/valid passport with used Japan visa can be submitted, applicant can be exempted from submitting (4) and (5) below.
  • It is applicant's responsibility to ensure that he/she meet the requirements for the grant of a visa. If no record exists in PSA, submit "Certificate of No Record" from PSA and birth certificate from the Local Civil Registry.
  5. Marriage Certificate (if applicant is married)
    Must be issued within one year from PSA Main Office / Serbilis Outlet Center (nationwide). If no record in PSA, submit "Certificate of No Record" from PSA and marriage certificate from the Local Civil Registry.
  6. Daily Schedule in Japan (TAIZAI YOTEIHYO)
  7. Proof of Relationship
    Documents such as photos, call details, receipts, passport copies, and written explanations regarding the relationship with the visa applicant.
  8. Invitation Letter from Guarantor in Japan
  9. Residence Certificate (JUMINHYO) of Japanese friend / acquaintance and guarantor
    If the Japanese friend/acquaintance is a foreign resident, submit a copy of their Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate (both sides). Residence Certificate must be issued within 3 months and must account for all family members.

If the applicant will shoulder part or all of travel expenses:

  1. Bank Certificate
    Bank Certificate validity is 3 months from date of issue.
  2. Income Tax Return (ITR) (Form 2316) clear photocopy (latest)

If the guarantor in Japan will shoulder part or all of the applicant's travel expenses:

  1. Guarantee Letter
  2. Income Certificate from the city hall, Tax Return Certificate with gross income from the tax office (Certificate of Tax Payment: Form 2), copy of tax return, or Bank Certificate. Must be issued within 3 months. Withholding tax certificate is not accepted in lieu of (13). Note that the tax certificate must show the gross income amount. Multiple documents (e.g. income certificate and bank certificate) may be submitted.

If the applicant is not a Philippine national:

  1. ACR Copy
    Foreign residents with long-term or permanent status in the Philippines must submit a copy of their Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR), in addition to all requirements above (except birth and marriage certificates). Visa applications of foreigners on short-term (temporary) visas in the Philippines cannot be accepted. Please apply at the Japanese Embassy / Consulate General with jurisdiction over your area of residence.

Visiting Relatives up to 3rd Degree

PURPOSE

Visiting relatives in Japan up to third degree of relationship. For relationships beyond third degree, follow temporary visitor visa requirements for visiting friends.

NOTICE

  • All documents must be A4 size only, original unless stated otherwise.
  • Falsified documents will result in visa denial.
  • Sufficient documentation doesn't guarantee approval.
  • Submitted documents generally cannot be returned.

REQUIREMENTS

All documents must be original unless otherwise stated.

    Issued within one year from PSA.

    Issued within one year from PSA.
  6. Daily Schedule in Japan (TAIZAI YOTEIHYO)
  7. Invitation Letter from Guarantor in Japan
  8. Family Registration (KOSEKI TOHON) (if applicable)
  9. Residence Certificate (JUMINHYO) of relatives / guarantor
    Issued within 3 months.
  10. Copy of Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident certificate
    Of relatives / guarantor (if foreign resident in Japan).

If the applicant will shoulder part or all of travel expenses:

  1. Bank Certificate
    3-month validity.
  2. Income Tax Return (Form 2316)

If the guarantor in Japan will shoulder part or all of the applicant's travel expenses:

  1. Guarantee Letter from guarantor
  2. Income Certificate or Tax Return Certificates showing gross income
    Issued within 3 months. Note: submitting withholding tax certificate in lieu of (14) is not accepted. Tax certificate must show gross income amount.

Visa Application with Certificate of Eligibility

PURPOSE

Visa application with Certificate of Eligibility for various categories (Spouse/Child of Japanese, Permanent Resident, Long-Term Resident, Engineer/Specialist, Trainee, Student, etc.) for residing in Japan.

NOTICE

  • A4 size documents only.
  • It is applicant's responsibility to ensure that he/she meet the requirements for the grant of a visa. Submission of any supporting documents not listed below is encouraged.
  • Falsified documents result in visa denial.
  • Documents cannot be returned.
  • Additional documents may be requested within 3 months.
  • Remove receipts from documents.

REQUIREMENTS

All documents must be original unless otherwise stated.

  1. Philippine Passport
    Must be signed with at least 2 blank visa pages.
  2. Visa Application Form
    Available on Japan Embassy website. All items must be completed correctly; "N/A" for non-applicable items.
  3. Photo
    4.5cm x 4.5cm, white background. Within 6 months old. Name and birthdate written on back. Pasted on application form.
  4. Certificate of Eligibility
    Original and photocopy.
  5. Residence Track — 2 copies
    Not required for diplomatic / official / spouse purposes.
  6. Birth Certificate
    Issued within one year from PSA. Additional documents required for late registrations or non-records.
  7. Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
    Issued within one year from PSA.

Visa for Spouse or Child of Japanese National Living in the Philippines

PURPOSE

Purpose is temporary visit in Japan of Spouse/Child (including special adopted child) of a Japanese National living in the Philippines with long-term visa status. Maximum stay is 6 months within one year.

NOTICE

  • Documents must be A4 size only.
  • Applicants bear responsibility for meeting requirements.
  • Submission of additional supporting documents is encouraged.
  • Document approval is at Japan Embassy's discretion.
  • Falsified documents result in visa denial.
  • Submitted documents cannot be returned.
  • Additional documents may be requested (3-month deadline).
  • Remove receipts from PSA documents, bank certificates, etc.

    All used pages.
  9. ACR Card Copy
    Of Japanese Spouse/Parent.
  10. Employment & Income Tax Certificates
    Of family's main provider.
  11. Multiple Entry Form
    If requesting multiple entry visa.
